Die vom 16.-18. September vorgesehenen ZVO-Oberflächentage 2020 finden nicht statt. Vorstand und Geschäftsleitung des Zentralverbandes Oberflächentechnik e.V. (ZVO) haben soeben die Durchführung des Kongresses abgesagt.
Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt, mit allen Auflagen zu Hygiene, Abstandseinhaltung, Raum-Kapazitätsbeschränkungen sowie den aktuellen konjunkturellen Rahmenbedingungen sind die ZVO-Oberflächentagen in diesem Jahr nicht sinnvoll realisierbar. Gesundheit und Sicherheit von Referenten, Ausstellern, Teilnehmern und Mitarbeitern haben für den ZVO oberste Priorität.
Seine Entscheidung hat der ZVO-Vorstand auch auf Basis der Ergebnisse aus Umfragen seiner Mitglieder und der letztjährigen Kongressteilnehmer getroffen und zudem die zahlreichen persönlichen Rückmeldungen aus der Branche einbezogen. Die Alternative, die ZVO-Oberflächentage als virtuelle Konferenz durchzuführen, wurde ebenfalls fallen gelassen, da 72 % der befragten Umfrageteilnehmer eine solche nicht wünschen.
Die ZVO-Verantwortlichen haben sich die heutige Entscheidung nicht leicht gemacht. Seit Ende April wurde die Situation vor den jeweils gültigen politischen Rahmenbedingungen in insgesamt drei Vorstands-Videokonferenzen bewertet. Dem ZVO ist an einer Veranstaltung gelegen, an der sich die Teilnehmer fachlich uneingeschränkt austauschen können und sich „wohl“ fühlen. Dies ist unter den gegenwärtigen Auflagen und der fragilen Situation definitiv nicht möglich.
Vorstand und Geschäftsleitung des ZVO verleihen ihrer Hoffnung Ausdruck, dass der Neustart mit den ZVO-Oberflächentagen 2021 vom 22.-24. September 2021 in Berlin uneingeschränkt gelingen kann und bittet gleichzeitig um Verständnis für seine heutige Entscheidung.
ZVO Surface Days 2020 (Düsseldorf) cancelled
The ZVO Surface Days 2020 scheduled for 16-18 September will not take place. Board and management of the Zentralverband Oberflächentechnik e.V. (ZVO) have just cancelled the congress. At present, with all the requirements regarding hygiene, keeping distances, room capacity restrictions and the current economic conditions, the ZVO Surface Days cannot be sensibly realised this year. The health and safety of speakers, exhibitors, participants and employees is a top priority for the ZVO.
The ZVO board made its decision also on the basis of the results of surveys conducted by its members and last year's congress participants and also took into account the numerous personal feedbacks from the industry. The alternative of holding the ZVO Surface Days as a virtual conference was also dropped, as 72% of the survey participants questioned did not want such a conference.
Today's decision was not an easy one for those responsible for the ZVO. Since the end of April, the situation has been assessed in a total of three board video conferences in the light of the prevailing political conditions. The ZVO is interested in an event at which the participants can exchange information without any restrictions and feel "comfortable". This is definitely not possible under the current conditions and the fragile situation.
The board and management of ZVO express their hope that the new start with the ZVO Surface Days 2021 from 22-24 September 2021 in Berlin can succeed without restrictions and at the same time ask for understanding for their decision today.
