The German Society for Electroplating and Surface Technology is expanding its technical committees and working groups to include a new body: the "Digitalization in Electroplating" technical committee. The previous ZIM innovation network "DiWeGa - Digitalized Value Chain in Electroplating" is officially being transferred to this committee.

Until March, the network was funded by the BMWK (Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection) and comprises eleven companies and one research institution. This decision was made jointly in a web meeting. The aim of the new expert committee is to promote the digitalization of the industry and address the specific challenges, while integrating relevant funding programmes. The first meeting is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of 2024.
