The high-precision XTV160 X-ray system from Nikon Metrology delivers rich performance features and razor-sharp images and is available from Factronix at a special price for a short time only.
As trade fairs are currently being put to the test due to the corona crisis, system partner Factronix wants to offer small and medium-sized companies in particular added value with its special trade fair promotion for the XTV160 X-ray system from Nikon Metrology. The special promotion for the X-ray system provides for a discount of 15 percent on the net price. At the same time, Factronix is strengthening its range of services with an extended contract X-ray service.
Stefan Theil, Sales Manager at Factronix: "With our special trade fair promotion for the XTV160 X-ray system from Nikon Metrology, we want to offer small and medium-sized companies in particular significant added value. "Electronics manufacturers who want to invest in an X-ray system can now benefit from Factronix's special trade fair promotion: The XTV160 X-ray inspection system from Nikon Metrology will be available at a discount of 15 percent off the list price until the end of the promotion on December 18, 2020. The package includes the "Inspect X" analysis software worth 4,500 euros. Delivery is also free of charge (including packaging). "As the coronavirus pandemic has disrupted the production and investment plans of many electronics manufacturers, we wanted to help small and medium-sized companies in particular with our special price promotion," says Stefan Theil, Sales Manager at Factronix, explaining the motivation behind this limited-time offer. "The XTV160 X-ray system from our partner Nikon Metrology not only enables high-precision defect detection in real time. It can also be used in a variety of ways, for example for incoming goods inspection, to inspect printed circuit boards and thus ensure the quality of production processes such as SMT, THT and rework & repair," he adds.
Premium class performance features
Modern X-ray inspection systems are characterized above all by maximum resolution, image sharpness and measuring accuracy. The XTV 160 X-ray inspection system from Nikon Metrology makes real-time imaging and analysis of defects on printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies much easier. The extremely precise object manipulator, which is optionally equipped with a precision axis for CT applications, enables defect detection without subjective influences and in layered image technology. The 160 kV/20 W nanofocus X-ray tube enables feature detection in the sub-micrometer range. The image is displayed in real time using a digital Varex 1515DX 16-bit flat-panel detector. This allows faults in through-hole assembly, wire bonding and wafer-level connections to be detected just as clearly as faulty BGA and QFN solder connections and short circuits.
A special feature is the 580 mm x 580 mm slide, which allows rotation at a maximum inclination of up to 72 degrees. This makes it possible to inspect large PCBs, multiple components or assemblies from every possible 3D perspective, even at up to 2400x geometric magnification. This is made possible by a five-axis manipulator (X, Y, Z, rotate, tilt), which provides those 360 views from a bird's eye perspective, while the area of interest to the user always remains fixed in the center of the field of view.
The vertically arranged system (with X-ray tube under the slide and angle-adjustable imaging system) is controlled via the user-friendly Inspect-X software or a precision joystick. The application can automatically determine the percentage of voids in the solder material - an important function to ensure that the electronic assembly meets the required specifications.
The real-time image optimization C.Clear intelligently adapts to changing X-ray conditions and sample positions, automatically adjusting image control, contrast and brightness settings. The result is crystal-clear, high-contrast images that make it easy to detect defects and reduce the pseudo defect rate.
Contract X-ray when time is of the essence
Thomas Otto, CTO of Factronix: "We not only help our customers to locate the defect, but also provide expert advice on the measures required to optimize the production processes. "In addition, electronics manufacturers can also benefit from Factronix's many years of expertise in X-ray inspection. Non-destructive X-ray inspection enables reliable and fast fault detection. It also provides valuable insights into error prevention.
Factronix relies on the proven technology of the XTV160 X-ray system from Nikon Metrology. The system enables efficient X-ray analysis in 2D and 3D technology and offers an oblique transmission of up to 72 degrees. With a magnification of well over 36,000 times (geometrically up to 2,400 times), the smallest defects in the sub-micrometer range can be detected beyond doubt. "We not only help our customers to locate the defect, but also provide expert advice on the measures required to optimize production processes in order to eliminate the cause of the defect in advance," emphasizes Thomas Otto, CTO of Factronix. The system partner is therefore increasingly focusing on providing its customers with sound advice. The subsequent test report contains comprehensive documentation, including overview images and detailed images with machine parameters.
