Bei der Galvanisierung von Kunststoffen hat auf Grund der Untersuchungen der Autoren nicht nur die Ätzlösung für das Aufrauhen der Kunststoff-Oberfläche einen Einfluß, auch der aktivierenden Behandlungslösung kommt eine große Bedeutung zu. Neben der Aufrauhung gewinnt vermutlich auch der chemische Zustand der behandelten Oberfläche Bedeutung für die nachfolgende Galvanisierung.
In this paper several tests are evaluated concerning the electroplating of plastics. It is shown that in the preparation of the surface of plastics to be plated not only the etching solution is of great importance, but also the conditioner solution in the „activation treatment“ to follow. Thus ist becomes evident that the chemical condition of the prepared plastic surface has just as decisive an influence upon the subsequent electrodeposition as the roughness effect obtained through etching.
