Diffusionsüberzüge in festen Metall- und Legierungssystemen bei höheren Temperaturen sind sowohl von theoretischem als auch von praktischem Interesse, da sie die Grundlage für Wärmebehandlungsprozesse bilden. Bei Kenntnis der Vorgänge zwischen Deckschicht und Grundmetall bei der Oberflächenvergütung ist es möglich, günstige Metallkombinationen durch Erzeugung von Diffusionsschichten herzustellen.
Diffusion coatings – diffused into solid metals or alloy systems at high temperatures – are of great interest scientifically as well as practically, for example as basis for heat treatment processes. The exact knowledge of basis metal, coating layer and the diffusion process taking place between both allows the production of metal combinations of different properties suitable for different applications. All problems concerning the production of such diffused coatings are discussed in full in the present paper.
