Moritz Herrmann von Jacobi (damals noch ohne „von“) beschrieb die Teilabdeckung seiner Formen schon bei der Darstellung der Erfindung der Galvanoplastik [1]. Nach der heutigen Lesart entsprach die Methode dem partiellen Maskieren. Als Abdeckmaterial verwendete Jacobi Guttapercha oder ähnliches.//
