Verbesserte Passivierung mit Zitronensäure-Formulierungen // Improvements in Passivation Using Citric Acid Formulations

Beschreibung Einleitung Zitronensäure-Formulierungen werden zwar schon mehrere Jahre in bestimmten Branchen eingesetzt, sie waren aber noch vor mehr als 10 Jahren relativ unbekannt. Sie sind als Ersatz für Salpetersäure angekündigt und verkauft worden, die viele Jahre den Stand der Technik darstellte, allerdings aus gesundheitlichen Gründen bedenklich ist. Dass die Passivierung mit Zitronensäure der neue Stand der Technik geworden ist, liegt an den neueren Daten, mit denen die QQ-P-35c gestoppt werden konnte, die von der Regierung und der Industrie in den Vereinigten Staaten und anderen Ländern als Standardspezifikation herangezogen wurde. Diese Spezifikation ist von der neuen ASTM A-967 zur Passivierung von Edelstahl ersetzt worden. Diese neue Spezifikation ließ sowohl alte Formulierungen als auch neue auf Basis von Zitronensäure zu. //  Introduction Although citric acid formulations have been used for quite a few years in particular industries, it was relatively unknown until around 10 years ago. It has since been promoted and sold as a substitute for the hazardous nitric acid systems that have been state of the art for many years. The reasons for the advent of citric acid passivation as the state of the art in recent years is because of new information and data that has been presented, allowing the cancellation of QQ-P-35c, which had been the standard specification used by government and industry in the United States and other countries. This specification was replaced by the new ASTM A-967 specification for passivation. This new specification allowed the use of either the old nitric formulations or the new citric acid systems.
