CEO Messe München India: Almost 21,000 people visited the combined trade fairs 'productronica India', 'electronica India' and 'ICPA Expo' in New Delhi at the end of September. Congratulations!
It was a real success not only because of the number of visitors, but also because of the higher participation of state-owned and international companies. The India SemiconductorConclave was launched as a platform to discuss the future of semiconductor design. This year, following on from the India PCB Tech Conference, the focus was on the development of the Indian ecosystem and more effective integration into global value chains.
Is the Indian PCB industry also struggling with a lack of component availability?
Indeed, the pandemic and geopolitical crises have disrupted global supply chains. But this presents a unique opportunity for manufacturers in emerging markets like India to expand their portfolio and increase profits through technological innovation. Smartphone manufacturers are experiencing massive growth and exports to new markets. The electronics and PCB manufacturing sector is particularly benefiting from the Indian government's production-linked incentive scheme.
What can you say about the development of the Indian PCB industry?
India's growing expertise in electronics manufacturing has led to an unprecedented demand for PCBs, components, raw materials, machinery and skilled labor. This is demonstrated by the 25% increase in domestic participation in our trade fairs. IPCA Expo has established itself as South Asia's leading trade fair for electronics manufacturing and for Indian and global PCB companies. In 2022, for example, the opportunities for demand in sectors such as automation, renewable energies and consumer electronics were discussed.
