In general, with 2-component systems, it is usual to provide sufficient space for the hardener in the container of the A-component. However, this volume is not required when using mixing and dosing systems.
One of Peters' customers therefore suggested rethinking the corresponding filling instructions for the 2-component casting compound. The result was a solution that not only led to smaller containers for the same product volume and the resulting advantages in terms of logistics and handling, but also ultimately improved the product.
The changeover has optimized work processes at Peters, saved packaging material and reduced transport volumes. The result is better handling and there are also advantages in terms of storage and disposal of the new container. Last-but-not-least: thanks to the new container, the storage stability of the A-component is improved. "This process shows that it can always be worthwhile to check operating processes for up-to-dateness and changed framework conditions," says Michael Kollasa, head of field sales at Peters.
