Circuit diagrams and wiring in the periphery of electronic assemblies are no longer the domain of electronic design systems. Sometimes things have to be done quickly and very simple tools are often used. The Swiss provider of engineering software for the electronics, electrical and mechanical engineering industry, Elinter, has now developed the SEE-Wiring solution based on the 3D CAD package Solid Edge Elelctric (SEE). It has the simplicity of MS Visio plans, but offers the advantage of stored and reusable consistency. SEE Wiring also offers the helpful logic of the tried-and-tested CAD tool, which makes creating plans even easier and more convenient.
The intelligent circuit diagram drawing tool simplifies and manages the wiring of a device using an electrical library. Connectors are connected correctly across several drawing sheets, all con poles are described correctly and errors are detected: short circuits can be detected and connections checked using simulation. Elinter is an electrical design software that supports the user in the perfect wiring of their device or system. All versions are implemented in a Solid Edge MCAD suite, meaning that all MCAD data can be imported and easily edited. For example, it is intuitive and easy to route and automatically extend cables in a design.
SEE Wiring also provides a seamless, digitized connection to other software tools - such as SEE Harness for wire harness production or SEE Electrical Routing for insertion into the device or system.
