Lackwerke Peters becomes a cooperation partner for the junior researcher program set up by the Ministry of Science of North Rhine-Westphalia, which aims to provide access to a university professorship. To this end, young scientists carry out teaching activities such as lectures and seminars at the university, but also spend half of their time conducting practical research with a cooperation partner in regional industry.
Dr. Christian Schmitz completed his doctorate at the University of Duisburg Essen in cooperation with the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences on the subject of 'Near-infrared curing systems'. At Peters, he will now devote three years to paint development and statistical test planning in close cooperation with the research and development department. The university's AI-based high-throughput system will be involved in the planning and research: It can be used to produce, apply, cure and test up to 120 paint samples per day in a fully automated process, thereby significantly optimizing and accelerating the paint development process.
