Prof. Amelie Hagelauer has been the new Director of the Munich-based Fraunhofer Research Institution for Microsystems and Solid State Technologies EMFT since the beginning of September 2021. This means she will head the research institute together with Prof. Christoph Kutter. At the same time, she has accepted the professorship for Micro- and Nanosystems Technology at the Technical University of Munich (TUM).
Hagelauer previously held the professorship for Communication Electronics at the University of Bayreuth and has extensive expertise in the field of integrated and discrete circuit technology. Her research focuses on RF chip design for communication and radar applications, integrated analog and mixed-signal circuits for AI applications and microacoustic components for mobile communications applications. "I am delighted that we have been able to recruit Amelie Hagelauer, an outstanding researcher and confident leader. I hope that this will inspire and encourage our young female scientists in particular to aspire to leadership positions in research," says Kutter.
The EMFT has two locations in and around Munich: In addition to the workplaces at the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft headquarters in Hansastrasse, the institution also has its laboratories and offices in Wessling-Oberpfaffenhofen - very close to the special airport there and the DLR facilities.
