The Green ICT Award is presented every year to inspire budding scientists for microelectronics and especially for Green ICT. It rewards outstanding student theses in the field of resource-saving information and communication technology. The award is initiated by the Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD).
The nominated theses are rewarded with a cash prize of €2,500 for first place, €1,000 for second place and €500 for third place. In addition, the three nominees will receive an exclusive invitation to attend a Green ICT Camp the following year.
Students and young professionals who have written their theses in the field of Green ICT are eligible to apply. Bachelor's and Master's theses from German universities and colleges are accepted. The theses can be submitted in German or English and must not be older than two years.
The focus is on microsystems technology, micro- and nanotechnology, electrical engineering, embedded systems (design), physics, etc.; computer engineering, information technology, etc.; environmental economics, energy and environmental technology, environmental and resource management, etc. as well as related courses of study.
