Nano Dimension takes over Essemtec

The US company Nano Dimension Ltd. acquires Essemtec AG. The product portfolio of the company, which is based in Aesch in the Swiss canton of Lucerne, includes production systems for assembling printed circuit boards. Essemtec is regarded as one of the leading suppliers of adaptive, highly flexible SMT placement machines and highly developed dispenser technology. The company also offers intelligent storage and logistics systems for production materials. The American buyer has made a name for itself worldwide in the field of additively manufactured electronics (AME), 3DMID, printed electronics and micro additive manufacturing (Micro-AM). Franz-Xaver Strüby, Chief Executive Officer of Essemtec, said: "The combination of Nano Dimension's strength in the Americas with Essemtec's strong presence in Europe creates valuable synergies for both parties. Furthermore, I am convinced that this merger will bring technological momentum to 3D printed electronics and electronics manufacturing as a whole."

Yoav Stern, Chairman and CEO of Nano Dimension: "The engineers and other team members of Essemtec who will join Nano Dimension after the closing of the transaction will continue to be led by their current management team, which will be additionally supported by Ziki Peled, COO of Nano Dimension." With the merger, Essemtec's existing investors have been able to find a succession plan that is independent of individuals and at the same time secure the Aesch site. In addition, the combination of both core competencies holds potential for the future: microchip assembly as part of an additively manufactured electronics solution.
