RS Components (RS) has released a new version of its DesignSpark CAD software for printed circuit boards. One of the new features of version 9 is that a report of all free-wired connections is created during schematic design.
It shows all component pins that are embedded in the trace system but for which the process has not been fully completed. It is now also possible to select from a separate area for copper fill areas. These no longer have to be selected from all the traces offered in the design.
The other optimizations in detail:
- Changed symbols saved in the component editor
saved in the component editor are automatically
automatically updated in preview windows - The size of dialog boxes such as 'Add component' in the library manager can be changed so that the names are fully legible
- 'Add text' allows you to select the
the text format and alignment - Cross Probe mode can be exited once a selection has been made
- Buttons for easy selection or deselection of
selection of all or individual layers in the plotting dialog - New library wizards provide options for creating and saving a new element
- A new jump bar enables
search for component names
RS continues to work on the functionalities of the software and relies on feedback from the user community.
