Würth Elektronik recently replaced the existing UV cross-linking device at its plant in Schopfheim (Baden-Württemberg) with a new Beltron Slimsize device. Thanks to its small footprint, the Slimsize device offers high efficiency when integrated into existing production lines.
At the same time, energy efficiency has been improved: the appliance automatically switches to energy-saving mode when idle. The roller transport system prevents product damage such as scratches on the paint surface. The use of quartz glass rollers in the process area enables double-sided irradiation in a single pass, whereby the light intensity of the lower UV source is not affected by the transparent rollers.
Post-crosslinking by UV drying stabilizes the surface structure of the solder resist, reduces condensation in the final curing process and reduces ionic contamination. This improves the resistance of the lacquer on the product and brings quality advantages for the Che Ni/Au process for finishing the contact surfaces and the cleaning processes after assembly.
