PCB manufacturer Schoeller Electronics Systems GmbH (EES, European Electronics Systems Ltd.), Wetter, is currently undergoing preliminary insolvency proceedings. Business operations will continue regardless of the ongoing proceedings. The Marburg Local Court has appointed lawyer Dr. Michael Lojowsky from Schultze & Braun as provisional insolvency administrator. The company's approximately 200 employees are protected for three months by insolvency benefits. Lojowsky is examining restructuring options.

The background to the imbalance was that the company had recently been without a manager, as its managing director Ben Jackson was in the UK and was unable to leave the country due to the coronavirus. He could not be reached by phone or email recently. An authorized signatory had left the company at the end of 2019. "As a result, there was no one to approve orders or make payments," says Lojowsky, who was appointed as a 'strong provisional administrator' due to these circumstances and can therefore make and implement decisions independently during the provisional insolvency proceedings. Lojowsky: "This is an important step for the continuation of business operations and the advancement of the insolvency proceedings."

Ben Jackson last appeared in public on 21 April with a letter to SES customers in which he explained that the Covid-19 situation had thwarted an upcoming real estate sale and other promising restructuring measures: "Even if it would be convenient to say that Schoeller Electronics Systems is insolvent in the traditional sense, I must strongly disagree with this statement," he emphasized there, referring to possible government aid to mitigate the effects of the pandemic. However, he made it clear in the letter submitted to the PLUS editorial team that his aim was to wind up the company without insolvency by the end of the year through all-time buys for customers, the sale of real estate and the sale of the machinery.

The company specializes in special technology circuits such as flex and rigid-flex circuits, circuit boards with laser micro-holes, metal cores or special base materials, for example for high-frequency circuits. Production ranges from development samples to series production. Customers include the major European electronics groups. -dir/vti-
