The new generation of ecomatBasic controllers from ifm electronic, headquartered in Essen, Germany, has been specially designed to meet the requirements of mobile machinery in terms of performance, flexibility and safety, according to the manufacturer. In addition to a controller for standard applications, the ecomatBasic also offers a separate controller for safety-related functions.
A TÜV-certified software library (from Q1-2025) contains the safety modules for CR403S and CR413S. With this software package, the control units meet all requirements for SIL 2, PL d, AgPL d and ASIL C. CANopen Safety, J1939 Safety and CIP Safety are also supported.
The compact CR403S and CR413S controllers in an IP20 housing each have 24 or 32 freely configurable inputs and outputs. Two CAN interfaces enable fast communication with other system components. The CR413S is also equipped with an Ethernet interface in the form of an M12 plug-in connection. The ecomatBasic controllers can be programmed quickly and easily using CODESYS 3.5. The controllers also have E1 type approval for use in the automotive sector. According to the manufacturer, the controllers can withstand temperatures from -40 to +85 °C.
