Vision Engineering receives Ergonomics Innovation Award for eyepieceless microscopes

The Ergonomics Innovation Award, presented by the Institute for Health and Ergonomics (IGR), has been awarded once again in 2021. The British microscope manufacturer Vision Engineering, with a German branch west of Munich, has now been awarded the prize.

With this award, the IGR aims to raise awareness of ergonomics among companies and organizations and to promote ergonomic product development and workplace design.

This year's winner, Vision Engineering, develops and manufactures optical and digital microscopes, inspection and measuring systems. The eyepiece-free, ergonomic advantages of these products were the decisive factor in the awarding of the prize. The microscopes do not have eyepieces, as is the case with conventional microscopes, so that the eyes do not have to come into contact with an eyepiece when using the microscope. The improved peripheral vision also allows users to coordinate their hands in a natural way. Hand-eye coordination is important for rework, repair, manipulation, preparation and other applications to ensure the precision and movement of tools and objects.
