The book presents the history of electroplating from a German perspective, although research has shown that electroplating was more international in its early days.
The book is divided into two parts. The first part describes the history of electroplating, while the second part tells stories about specialist electroplating companies and goes into detail about the history of these companies.
It was very difficult and sometimes impossible to obtain documents about their history from the companies that are still in business today. The names and significance of the original companies, which were later taken over by international groups, are mostly no longer known to the employees of these companies today. The book is a documentation of information to preserve it for future generations.
