3D AOI with optimized artificial intelligence

Japan-based Saki Corporation has passed the qualification of its 3D automatic optical inspection system by Japan-based Denso Corporation. The new solution implemented by the global automotive supplier is the 3Di-LS2-CASE model, a next-generation 3D AOI inspection system with advanced AI technology. 3Di-LS2-CASE offers maximum speed and accuracy. The highly stable gantry design of the Saki platform and the AI-based automation functions make a significant contribution to this. This significantly reduces the number of false alarms for soldering defects (poor wetting), which are difficult to diagnose with conventional 3D AOI technology. Overall, both the speed and precision of solder defect detection are dramatically improved.

Saki's AI engine is able to learn from an extensive collection of image data. This eliminates the need to optimize the data during solder joint inspection. As a result, no specially trained specialist personnel are required. The high inspection quality ensures reliable deep learning. The simple structure of the data flow is very robust against network problems and enables the creation of a stable system network with outstanding ease of maintenance.
