The new 'BAL' test fixture design from 3D printing start-up eloprint enables the programming and testing of PCBs in the smallest of spaces with maximum customization and the option of double-sided contacting.
3D printing is not only the inexpensive way to produce test adapters, it also enables outstanding delivery times and individual adaptations for assemblies with any form factor.
Thanks to the new 'BAL' design, eloprint's test adapters are now more robust and subject to less wear. A linear guide with ball bearings also enables double-sided contacting of the PCBs. The PCBs are positioned over their edges or through holes using catch pins and placed on a spring-loaded carrier plate. When the test specimen is inserted, there is no contact with the test needles in the needle bed below. By actuating the lever, the individual hold-down device is moved from top to bottom and the PCB is pressed linearly onto the test needles. Assembled components are taken into account.
If required, a second needle bed can be integrated into the hold-down device, which enables double-sided contacting of the test object.
The 'BAL' design was specially developed for small PCBs. Larger PCBs are still contacted with the tried and tested 'PRL' adapters. In contrast to conventional test fixtures, the pin carrier is moved upwards towards the PCB by operating a lever.
Functional test adapters are delivered within one to three weeks. Traditional systems can quickly cost many times more with development times of several months.
Individual customer requirements are taken into account during the development process: Switches, connectors, add-on parts etc. are not a problem.
The estimated costs can be calculated individually on the eloprint website. The costs for development and production are also shown transparently, so that volume discounts are automatically applied.
Despite the difficult order situation due to coronavirus, eloprint was able to significantly increase its turnover in 2020 and acquire many new customers, enabling the start-up to grow steadily and further develop its products.
eloprint's customers include small, medium-sized and large companies from various industries. Having built up a solid network of new and returning customers, the company plans to further establish itself in Germany and gain a foothold in the international market. To this end, the product portfolio is also to be further expanded.
