How can companies along the electronics manufacturing value chain respond to the current challenges? Through reliable and cooperative partnerships, say Becktronic and Brückmann Elektronik.
At Becktronic: Laser cutting system for stencil productionCurrently,EMS service providers are facing many challenges: Component shortages and supply bottlenecks, increasing demand for industrial and precious metals, skyrocketing prices are just some of them. In addition, technical requirements are growing, while the complexity of electronic assemblies is increasing in parallel. SMD stencil manufacturer Becktronic and electronics system supplier Brückmann Elektronik GmbH have been working together for many years and have recently intensified their partnership.
The starting point for joint projects is different each time. This is mainly due to the diverse market segments - electronic assemblies from Brückmann Elektronik are used in the optical industry, in measurement technology, in motion control systems, in aviation, in high-frequency technology and in the audio and high-end sector. The laser-cut SMD stencils from Becktronic are important tools for high-precision solder paste printing.
Customers approach the cooperation partners with a wide variety of problems. In addition to the increased technical requirements, process reliability plays a particularly important role - even under increased time pressure. Maintaining continuity and quality standards in time-critical projects is no problem for Becktronic. "The highest product quality is our top priority. With DIN EN ISO 9001, we have imposed very strict standards on ourselves in this respect," says Managing Director Thomas Schulte-Brinker.
Special attention is paid to the problem that almost all EMS service providers have to contend with: Using data from different layouters and CAD programs to produce consistently good assemblies. Becktronic supports the partner here by providing advice and implementing the necessary modifications to the template data. These optimizations are stored in customer-specific standards, continuously updated and adapted to changes in the SMD production process. As a result, soldering defects such as tombstone effects, unsoldered contacts, solder bridges and solder beads have been virtually eliminated or prevented in advance.
"We know that Becktronic is an absolutely reliable partner at our side along the entire value chain. The fact that we have not received any complaints since the start of the collaboration proves that we can rely on the team even when deadlines are tight," says Martin Reuter, Head of Materials Management at Brückmann Elektronik.
Becktronic specializes in the production of laser-cut SMD stencils made of stainless steel and nickel materials. The company produces high-quality precision stencils for quick-release systems or mounted in fixed frames. They are available in stepped versions and with surface finishing. Other products in the company's portfolio include LTCC stencils, maxi stencils, sputter masks, metal squeegees, molded parts, quick-release frames as well as archiving bags and storage systems for SMD stencils.
