Prof. Andreas Bund
Ilmenau University of Technology
Prof. Andreas Bund has been an endowed professor in the field of electrochemistry and electroplating at Ilmenau University of Technology since mid-2010. The professorship is supported by the ZVO for five years. He studied chemistry at Saarland University and completed his doctorate there under the supervision of Prof. Schwitzgebel. In 1999, Andreas Bund moved to the TU Dresden to join Prof. Plieth's group. He habilitated there in 2004 and was awarded a teaching license for physical chemistry.
A Heisenberg Fellowship from the German Research Foundation (2005 - 2009) gave him the opportunity to develop his scientific career. In 2006 and 2007, he worked at the University of Utah together with Prof. Henry White on the numerical simulation of electrochemical processes. After a deputy professorship at the TU Munich (2009 - 2010), he was appointed to the TU Ilmenau. His areas of work are in the field of electrochemical surface technology and energy storage/conversion.
