The recently acquired NADCAP accreditation opens new doors for the Austrian PCB company in aviation and space technology. Materials and products used in aircraft construction and space travel must meet the highest quality standards to ensure safety. This naturally also applies to printed circuit board and interconnect solutions, which play a key role in aircraft. AT&S has been supplying solutions for aviation for 15 years, and since 2015 also for safety-relevant applications. Interconnect solutions, which are also used in engine control systems, form the heart of the aircraft control system controlled by the pilots (Primary Flight Control Unit). Aircraft manufacturers only work with companies that meet the highest quality standards. The so-called NADCAP accreditation (National Aerospace and Defence Contractor Accreditation Program) was developed for this purpose. The accreditation program is carried out by the independent Performance Review Institute (PRI). In principle, it also applies to the military sector, although AT&S does not operate in this area. With this certification, the global aerospace industry is pursuing the goal of ensuring uniform standards for the quality assurance of production and testing procedures for all relevant aircraft components. AT&S has now successfully completed this internationally recognized certification process. After more than twelve months of intensive preparation and four days of auditing, the auditors have accredited AT&S to the NADCAP standards.
