Armin Wittmann, Messe München, is in charge of LOPEC (February 25-27, 2025). We wanted to know what innovations can be expected this year.
What innovations will LOPEC showcase for the automotive industry?
Many concepts that were previously only planned can now be seen as finished products and are going into series production. For example, rear lights from the new Audi will be on show - and interfaces with increasingly perfect haptics that give the impression of pressing a switch or touching curved switches by vibrating a smooth surface. It is incredible what is now possible. The importance of printed electronics is also growing for battery technologies: for monitoring or current control through membranes. Exhibitors are therefore increasingly receiving inquiries from the automotive sector.
"We are looking forward to our new congress concept"
What is changing in the congress structure?
For the first time, we are supplementing the LOPEC Congress with compact, two-hour user sessions on the topics of Smart Living (26.02.) and Mobility (27.02.). We want to appeal to scientists and interested visitors alike.
Is there still enough depth to the presentations?
Absolutely. They are around 20 to 30 minutes long and cover all kinds of user topics relating to printed electronics for smart living and mobility. We have also introduced a morning ticket for the congress for the first time. You can so to speak soak up the bundled knowledge on one topic in two hours.
What highlight are you looking forward to?
Definitely the Innovation Showcase. It's a glimpse into the future and shows creative applications of technology that never cease to amaze me.
