Successfully digital: Dittes Galvanik increases delivery reliability

The family business Dittes Galvanik GmbH looks back proudly on over a hundred years of history - and yet always looks boldly to the future. Tradition and progress go hand in hand in the company. As a supplement to the time-honored routing slip, a digital tool is now being used that not only increases flexibility and clarity when processing orders, but also the company's delivery reliability

Flexible planning for the future with plantafel.digital: an electroplating bath at DittesForDittes Galvanik from Birkenfeld, the good old paper order has proven to be simply too inflexible on a day-to-day basis. In particular, the system used to fail for urgent orders, including spontaneous changes to scheduling. For Katrin Dittes, Production Manager, it was therefore a lucky find - and an easy decision - when she was presented with a digital alternative. "I could immediately see the benefits for us and was convinced: we need this!" she says. She promptly got the rest of the management on board. Since then, Dittes Galvanik has been an enthusiastic user of plantafel.digital. "The solution simply addressed our problem exactly," adds Managing Director Ulrike Kunrath. "We realized that our merchandise management system was too inflexible for scheduling. The digital planning board has filled precisely this gap. Since we have been managing capacities via the platform, people no longer have to pass on the information: the information goes directly from the PC to production."

"In principle, no training is necessary. Just a brief explanation and you can start working with plantafel.digital," recalls apprentice Lara Hengelhaupt. Together with her colleague Regine Neuweiler-Tran, she transfers incoming orders to the system and sets deadlines, which can be adjusted as required using drag-and-drop. Departments and work processes are color-coded and active and completed processes are marked accordingly. According to Ms. Neuweiler-Tran, this provides customers with maximum information: "Our customers have definitely noticed that we can answer questions about the status directly."

Spontaneous changes can also be easily recorded and communicated. "Customers are very happy that we produce so quickly. Adherence to deadlines and speed have always been two of our greatest strengths," reports Ms. Kunrath. "Thanks to the new system, we have been able to expand these significantly." In future, Dittes Galvanik also plans to use plantafel.digital for personnel planning. www.plantafel-digital.de
