Littlefuse, a manufacturer of industrial technology, presents the SM10 varistor series. The metal oxide varistor (MOV) was developed for overvoltage protection in automotive electronics, including electric vehicles. This latest addition is characterized by being the first surface mount MOV device that meets the automotive standard AEC-Q200, withstands high operating temperatures and can handle high surge currents in its compact package.
The SM10 series varistor offers:
- High operating temperature: withstands temperatures of up to 125 degrees Celsius.
- AEC-Q200 compliance: Meets automotive electronics standards and is suitable for electric vehicles and charging stations.
- High discharge capacity: Ability to withstand repeated overvoltages, withstands up to 40 pulses of 6 kV and 3 kA surges.
- Compact design: With dimensions of 15.7 mm x 8.5 mm x 14 mm, the device saves space on the board and is ideal for the automated assembly of SMT circuit boards.
- Wide voltage range: From 130 VAC to 625 VAC, suitable for a wide range of electronic applications.
The SM10 is suitable for applications in automotive electronics, electric vehicles and charging stations, building automation, household appliances, consumer and home electronics, energy storage systems and high-quality power supplies, among others.
