New from Omron Electronic Components Europe is the G5RL-K-EL bistable relay. It is tailored to the high switch-on power required in intelligent building automation systems and for controlling capacitive loads. The flat 16A power relay for fluorescent and LED lamps offers an innovative structure with single contacts and two coils (set and reset coil), making it a competitive solution.
The relay is IEC60669-1 approved and offers an inrush current capability of up to 255 A, making it suitable for demanding switching environments with highly fluctuating loads. The module is compatible with the international safety standard for electrical/electronic household appliances (IEC60335-1). The latching design saves energy as no holding current is required to hold the relay. The device is a contemporary addition to the G5RL relay family, explains Andries de Bruin, Senior European Product Marketing Manager at Omron: "Smart building systems can prevent people from touching shared surfaces - an important safety measure in relation to Covid-19."
