Keysight Technologies announces that Altium LLC is licensing Keysight's advanced electromagnetic simulation technology to create power analysis solutions for PCB designers.

Reliable power distribution is a common problem for PCB designers. As components operate at low supply voltages, it becomes difficult to design a PCB power supply level within shrinking tolerance limits. Therefore, designers go through multiple iterations or submit their designs to power integrity specialists. Both are suboptimal approaches.
'Power Analyzer' is the first product of the strategic partnership. Altium has integrated Keysight's EM simulation technology into its graphical user interface to perform power analysis quickly, accurately and easily. PCB designers gain insight into the performance of their power supply layer by analyzing voltage drop and current density within their layout environment.
According to Tom Bastanza, Senior Sales Director at Altium, 'Power Analyzer' saves time by quickly identifying problem areas: "With Power Analyzer, designs no longer need to be handed over to specialists for validation, as hardware designers can fix the problems in their Altium PCB layout environment." Niels Faché, Vice President at Keysight, adds: "The partnership is about digitally transforming the workflow for hardware engineers. Power Analyzer puts Keysight's simulation in the hands of PCB designers."
Keysight's expertise in fast and accurate design and validation solutions extends to software-driven analysis that brings products to market faster across the development lifecycle. This applies to design simulation, prototype validation, automated software testing, manufacturing analysis and network performance optimization in enterprise, service provider and cloud environments.
