A fresh start after the crisis

A fresh start after the crisis

The coronavirus pandemic has all areas of life firmly in its grip and the long-term economic and social consequences are almost impossible to predict. The pandemic is also accelerating change processes caused by digitalization, for example, or necessities resulting from the findings on climate change. This makes the constant changes to European environmental legislation seem immediately obvious.

The fact is that many things will be different after the pandemic - it will probably not be business as usual. There is no need to fear this, as there are great opportunities for research-based companies in particular. Crises create a dynamic that questions established procedures and products and opens doors for new things. At the same time, companies are more willing to take risks. This is very much in line with the high degree of diversification of Schlötter's own processes and its strong R&D focus.
Schlötter's strong R&D focus. Fortunately, this is also reflected in the full pipeline of current and planned projects.

Schlötter has reorganized itself in order to master the high complexity of current and future challenges. In addition to the two managing partners Dr. Geldbach and Dr. Geldbach, Dr. Michael Zöllinger was appointed as Managing Director on February 1, 2021. In addition, an extended management team was put together consisting of the two authorized signatories Pohland (Head of Organization/Controlling) and Haberfellner (Head of Sales/Service) and the heads of the Plant Engineering division, Ms. Maier and Mr. Schöfisch.

Essentially, the Geislingen-based company focuses on being perceived as a solution provider of electroplating processes and the corresponding plant technology. It is precisely this combination that makes it possible to improve the features that are decisive for the processes for the coming generations of coating processes.

The monitoring, control, optimization and development of processes in terms of energy use, resources andCO2 footprint are important factors for the success of customers.

Recently, a very efficient alkaline zinc-nickel system, SLOTOLOY ZN 210 VX, was launched for cathodic corrosion protection, which can save up to 30% of electrical and thermal energy. The SLOTOCOUP SF 50, a new high-performance acidic system for copper plating of printed circuit boards, was launched last year and combines several process steps in one, saving time, energy and waste water.

The company has had a reliable purchasing policy for many years and has many raw materials in stock in large quantities, which is invaluable in these times. Where possible, the company purchases locally, or Schlötter uses its own synthesis methods at its other production site in Ireland. Max Schlötter GmbH & Co KG intends to remain a reliable supplier for its customers in the future.

As a family business, the company has been focusing on reliability and security for its customers since 1912, but also for its employees, without whom there can be no future. "Trusting in the old to create the new" has proved its worth over the past 109 years of the company's eventful history and has guided it through many crises. For this reason, Geislingen is looking forward to the challenges ahead with excitement and high motivation.
