It is not only in the rankings of companies and business newspapers that Thuringian universities do well; the TU Ilmenau also receives top marks from the students themselves. The result of the university evaluation portal StudyCheck, which presented TU Ilmenau with the "TOP UNIVERSITY 2020" award, is based on a total of 40,000 evaluations. The Rector at the time, Professor Peter Scharff, was delighted and saw this as proof of the high quality of teaching.
91% of students and graduates recommend the TU and rate their university with an average of 4 out of 5 stars. The TU was rated particularly highly for the quality and support provided during their studies and the excellent career prospects for graduates. The university's modern facilities and attractive campus were also highlighted (Landesentwicklungsgesellschaft Thüringen mbH (LEG Thüringen), Dr. Holger Wiemers).
