Lubricants - underestimated in the fight against climate change and energy costs

High-performance lubricants can reduce friction losses to such an extent that they become an effective instrument for climate protection and energy saving. According to the German Society for Tribology (GfT), up to 22 million tons ofCO2 could be saved in Germany alone through efficient lubrication. That is 6.4% of theCO2 reductions targeted by the German government by 2030.

The spectrum of effects of the lubricants ranges from longer maintenance intervals, less lubricant consumption and waste, energy savings and therefore lowerCO2 emissions to lower cleaning agent consumption.

"New smooth-running roller bearings, innovative plain bearings and mechanical seals reduce energy consumption not only in large machines in heavy industry, but also in small auxiliary drives or peristaltic pumps, for example in medical technology."

New drive technologies can also save a lot more energy compared to conventional standard drives. If rolling mills are expertly modernized or retrofitted with the help of the technical trade, considerable energy cost savings are often achieved. At the same time, the service life of old machines can be significantly increased, which is more environmentally friendly than buying new ones. New smooth-running roller bearings, innovative plain bearings and mechanical seals reduce energy consumption not only in large machines in heavy industry, but also in small auxiliary drives or peristaltic pumps, for example in medical technology. The technical trade has a professional range of products for machine optimization and can provide advice and support for maintenance, servicing and retrofitting.
