The revised guidelines for the "Federal Funding for Energy and Resource Efficiency" (EEW) funding program have been in force since 1 May 2023. The main changes resulting from this include, in particular, the funding of plants for the development and utilization of deep geothermal energy. For the first time, the EEW can also be used to promote systems for the development/utilization of deep geothermal energy.
Funding is provided exclusively via Module 2, which, like other modules, contains information on the object of funding, the amount of funding and the requirements for funding.
The preparation of feasibility studies is also eligible for funding, regardless of whether or not a geothermal plant is subsequently constructed.
