Following the flood disaster last summer, Richard Geiss GmbH, based in Offingen (Bavaria), has now invested heavily in flood protection. The company is active in the field of solvent recovery.
A new addition is a specially manufactured flood protection trailer with a pumping capacity equivalent to three to four fire department units. The trailer is also available to fire departments from the region. Richard Geiss GmbH invested around 100,000 euros in the custom-built trailer. As part of its flood protection and thus also environmental and occupational safety measures, the solvent specialist will also build an equipment shed of around 100 square meters on its company premises. However, Richard Geiss GmbH is not only investing in its own flood protection, but also in that of the region: the company has donated a total of 60,000 euros to regional fire departments.
The trailer is equipped with six high-performance pumps with a total output of 8,600 liters per minute. The pumps are two Spechtenhauser Chiemsee A flood protection pumps, each with a pumping capacity of 2,500 liters per minute, two Spechtenhauser Mini-Chiemsee B flood protection pumps, each with a pumping capacity of 1,500 liters per minute, and two Spechtenhauser X 300 waste water pumps with a pumping capacity of 300 liters per minute. Two emergency power generators secure the power supply for the six pumps in total - even if the regular power supply fails, which is often the case in flood situations. The equipment is supplemented by LED lighting systems and accessories for immediate use.
