Once again this year, you can expect a proven mix of tradition and innovation at the ZVO Surface Technology Days from September 13 to 15 in Berlin. The Berlin venue is traditional, the location is new: for the first time, we will be welcoming participants to the Mercure Hotel MOA Berlin, which promises the best conditions for our industry event with its modern ambience, short distances and excellent location. A top-class lecture program has also become a tradition, with a total of 90 presentations this year.
Regina Halmich, pioneer of women's boxing, will kick things off with her keynote speech on the topic of "Don't get caught in the ropes: What success in the ring and in business have in common" at the official opening evening on September 13 at the MOA. This will be followed on Thursday and Friday by topical presentations on the main topics: Climate neutrality & energy and resource efficiency, cost and resource-efficient wastewater treatment, surface processes for sustainable, climate-neutral and energy-saving coating, technologies for surface functionalization outside of electroplating, the challenge of industrial component cleaning and, by popular demand, the entrepreneur forum "Management meets surface". The congress program will be rounded off by presentations from the recurring areas: Results from research: young colleagues report, Wear protection & tribology, New requirements and Complementary technologies in electroplating and surface technology.
A new feature is our consultation hour on regulatory developments in European and national environmental and chemicals policy, in which users will receive answers to their questions regarding environmental and chemicals legislation. On Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 10:50 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., ZVO experts, primarily from the environmental and chemicals policy department, will be available for discussions. What can we expect from legislation and regulation in the future? What can be done to counter the massive dismantling of industry and economic output in Europe? We will inform and discuss this with you. The open consultation hour also offers the opportunity to talk about specific and individual concerns, needs and problems from everyday working life and to identify possible solutions. As always, the breaks leave room for in-depth discussion of the topics, exchange and networking - an important aspect of the ZVO Surface Technology Days. And, of course, for visiting the accompanying industry exhibition, which is becoming increasingly important within the congress. This year, 71 national and international exhibitors from the electroplating and surface treatment industry as well as from science and services will once again offer an exclusive showcase.
