At 1.7 mm wide x 3.6 mm long, Kyocera's new board-to-board connector is around 50% smaller than conventional products.
Optimized for use in wearables, the board-to-board connector is therefore space-saving, durable and powerful at high currents. The 5811 series has a pitch of 0.35 mm. The reduced size of Kyocera's new board-to-board connector is also ideal for handheld devices, game consoles and other smaller electronic devices. The flat structure ensures holding power despite the low overall height of 0.6 mm. Despite its ultra-compact design, the connector is very durable and optimized for high current performance (3A/power terminal). The surface of the plug is uniformly flat and the socket has a concave shape without central convexity. This optimizes plug guidance and prevents damage. To meet customer requirements for portable devices, the 5811 series can hold up to five signal pins and two power supply pins.
