The 1907-HT RF module from Insight SIP offers a variety of features in a tiny 'package' for a wide range of IOT use cases. It includes Bluetooth Mesh, ZigBee and Thread protocols to enable multi-mode networking and is ideal for smart lighting/smart building applications with its extended temperature range. The module also supports BLE direction finding and includes a powerful microprocessor that allows it to sit at the 'heart' of any direction finding anchor system. The ultra-miniature size of 8 x 8 x 1 mm includes an integrated antenna. The module can be operated with a rechargeable battery or, if required, with a button cell. Thanks to the extremely low power consumption and the integrated power management system, the battery can last up to several years.
The module is based on Nordic Semiconductor's nRF52833 2.4 GHz wireless system on a chip (SoC), complemented by a 2.4 GHz transceiver, a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 with 512 kB flash and 128 kB SRAM memory, and a large number of analog and digital IOs for peripherals.
Module prototypes are available immediately. Mass production of the modules will begin in the first quarter of 2021. Certification is still pending. For product developers, Insight SiP offers a complete development kit together with sample software to start developing a solution immediately.
