Murata's product line for ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) was expanded in February of this year to include the GJM022 series. It was developed for high-frequency module applications and extends the high-Q capacitor by a voltage value of 100 V. High-frequency outputs are integrated together with power amplifiers for 5G high-speed communication. The increased number of components underlines the need for modularization of wireless communication circuits. The GJM022 is designed to meet the increasing demands for minimum size and maximum power capacitors.
Thin-film and high-precision lamination technologies are used in its manufacture. With a size of 0.4 mm x 0.2 mm LW, the component enables high-Q and low-loss performance. A high-temperature guarantee ensures long-term operation even in the immediate vicinity of hot, heat-radiating components such as power semiconductors.
The GJM022 can be used for a variety of applications, such as impedance matching and DC blocking in RF modules for base stations. The high Q value and low equivalent series resistance (ESR) improve the efficiency of power amplifiers and help to reduce power consumption. Full production of the GJM022/100V started in February 2024.
