New automated assembly identification

New automated assembly identification

With the aim of achieving the greatest possible traceability in the production of electronic assemblies, EMS service provider kortec, Sinsheim, which specializes in industrial electronics, has developed special camera systems that are able to capture and register individual assemblies during transport. This achieves the greatest possible transparency, even with frequently changing assemblies in equally flexible and stable production processes.

The serial number applied to each assembly in 2D matrix code is automatically scanned in real time and transferred to the PDA system together with the order data. It is worth noting that it is possible to work in the panel and any number of codes can be scanned within a maximum working width of 400 mm. The camera systems are permanently installed on all production lines. The serial numbers are recorded automatically, without human intervention. From the receipt of the components to their processing, each batch is now automatically assigned to each individual assembly. This is a decisive step towards further transparency and automation in the direction of Industry 4.0.
