Change of position at VDE

Thomas Michael Koller (47) has taken over the position of Head of Brand Management, Marketing and Communication at the VDE Group as of January 1, 2020. Dr. Walter Börmann, previously Head of Communications and Public Affairs, is retiring. Based at the VDE headquarters in Frankfurt, Koller will be responsible for the global management of all strategic and operational marketing, brand and communication activities for the entire VDE organization with around 2,000 employees in Germany and abroad. Born in Erlangen, he will ensure the successful integration of the various VDE subsidiaries (non-profit and for-profit).
After training as an industrial electronics technician at Siemens AG and studying business administration with a focus on marketing and branding at the Georg Simon Ohm TH Nuremberg, Koller worked for the BMW Group in the areas of marketing and communication from 2001 to 2012 - most recently as Head of BMW Sports Marketing. In 2012, Koller moved to Siemens AG as Vice President Market Communications/Branding. In 2017, he became Senior Vice President Corporate Communications/Branding at Siemens Healthineers AG and, among other things, managed the strategic realignment of brand management in preparation for the IPO.
