The company, which has been based in Oldenburg for four decades, will permanently cease operations on November 30, 2020.
With around 70 employees, straschu Leiterplatten GmbH has been manufacturing printed circuit boards for industry at its site for many years. Among other things, energy and competitive pressure from the Far East in this very labor-intensive product segment are the main reasons for this unavoidable step.
"It is with great regret that we have to take this path, even if we do not like it. However, we are no longer able to buck the market trend and produce printed circuit boards at the Oldenburg site at a cost-covering level under the prevailing conditions," says Mr. Olaf Pannenborg, Managing Director of straschu Leiterplatten GmbH.
Only the PCB manufacturing division is affected by the closure, so there will be no impact on the other independent straschu companies in the electrical trade and electronics divisions.
