The Executive Board of VDMA Productronic elected Dr. Christian Strahberger as the new Deputy Chairman at its meeting on November 3, 2020. The board now has five members: Volker Pape, Viscom AG (Chairman); Dr. Christian Strahberger, Singulus Technologies AG (Deputy Chairman); Marijan Brcina, Manz AG; Prof Dr. Wolfgang Schmutz, acp systems AG; Siegfried Seidl, F&S Bondtec Semiconductor GmbH.
Dr. Strahberger studied physics at the University of Regensburg and the Walter Schottky Institute at the Technical University of Munich, where he also obtained his doctorate. After seven years at Siemens AG, he held various management positions at Voith GmbH from 2009 to 2016. He was then sole Managing Director of Schottel GmbH from 2016 to 2019. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Executive Board/Chief Operating Officer at Singulus
Technologies AG.
Singulus Technologies develops and builds innovative machines and systems for efficient and resource-saving production processes that are used worldwide in the solar, semiconductor, medical technology, consumer goods and data storage sectors.

His goals for his work on the board of VDMA Productronic are: Representing common interests towards politics and the public for a stronger perception as well as promoting the exchange of experiences between members on external influences of technological and geopolitical trends, such as trade conflicts and implementation of 5G, in order to find new markets and optimize supply chains. In addition, it sees priorities in methods to continuously improve the competitiveness of member companies (e.g. digitalization, agile development).
