The Verbändeallianz Elektronik, an association of medium-sized trade associations from the electronics industry, welcomes the immediate action program 'Responsibility for Germany' presented by the German government as a fundamentally correct step, but also voices criticism.
The alliance of associations, consisting of the FED, FBDI and COGD, recognizes the objective of facilitating investment in strategically relevant sectors and securing Europe's technological sovereignty. It is also encouraging that the EU has recognized the urgency of simplifying and harmonizing processes in its current strategy paper of 21 May 2025 and in the EU Omnibus Initiative.
However, the Alliance criticizes the fact that the reductions remain too vague and do not address the structural causes of excessive bureaucracy. The Alliance of Electronics Associations is therefore calling for
- Binding time limits for approvals and administrative procedures accompanied by binding statutory processing deadlines with clear legal consequences if these are exceeded
Standardized, digital reporting channels for regulatory obligations via a central, digital interface and harmonization of requirements at EU and federal level. - Elimination of double reporting and redundant reporting obligations
- SME-friendly thresholds and exemptions, as many regulations exceed the capacity of SMEs and make no distinction between large corporations and medium-sized electronics companies
- Practical dialog prior to new regulations in order to check and then ensure feasibility
The alliance of associations is willing to get involved in further work on the implementation of the immediate action program, also in order to design targeted and effective measures.
