Following a previous investment in new prepreg production machines - known as prepreg treaters - in 2022, laminate manufacturer Ventec has expanded capacity at its plant in Taiwan due to high demand for its VT-901 / VT-90H high-performance polyimide laminates and prepregs.
As a result, the manufacturer can now supply the entire range of VT-901/VT-90H laminates and prepregs in large quantities. In addition, the plant's production capacity has been expanded to enable it to supply no-flow/low-flow prepregs for rigid-flex applications.
According to the manufacturer, the strategic measures to decentralize and duplicate production capacity for the entire product range are aimed at reducing supply chain risks for PCB manufacturers, OEMs and EMS in all regions by increasing the geographical diversity of the company's operations.
According to Jason Chung, CEO of Ventec, the capacity expansion at the Taiwan plant is the latest step in the company's strategic development to significantly increase its manufacturing presence outside of China. The increased capacity will allow Ventec to expand the range of products produced in Taiwan, starting with the full range of high-performance polyimide materials.
