Ongoing travel restrictions continue to make professional IFA participation impossible for companies, especially from Asian core exhibitor markets - preparations for IFA 2020 Special Edition are in full swing.
IFA Global Markets cannot take place again until 2021. The plan to bring together manufacturers, distributors and retailers at the sourcing platform for consumer electronics and household appliances in Berlin this year proved to be unfeasible for companies from the Asian markets.
"From our discussions with partners, we know that the desire to participate in a physical trade fair this year remains high," said Jens Heithecker, IFA Executive Director. "It is the ongoing travel restrictions that are making it impossible for Asian companies in particular to come to Berlin. As a result, many of our exhibitors have been forced to postpone their participation in IFA Global Markets until next year." Pan-Asian suppliers to the consumer and home electronics industry make up the majority of IFA Global Markets participants.
"It was not easy for us to postpone this section of the IFA 2020 Special Edition to 2021," says Heithecker. "Especially as almost 600 companies would have been prepared to present themselves in Berlin this year. Nevertheless, we have to accept that, given the current travel restrictions, it is not possible for many of our partners to prepare for IFA Global Markets this year in a plannable manner."
All companies that had planned to participate in the IFA 2020 Special Edition and are unable to attend now have the opportunity to present their brands, products and innovations digitally as part of the IFA Virtual Market Place. For companies still planning to participate in 2020, the IFA team offers alternative solutions for a successful IFA presence.
IFA Global Markets is IFA's international sourcing platform for OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers), suppliers and component manufacturers.
Preparations for the IFA 2020 Special Edition, which will take place in Berlin from September 3 to 5, 2020, are continuing at full speed. Outstanding global brands have already announced their participation. Among others, BSH, Huawei, Honor, JVC Kenwood, LG, Miele, Qualcomm, Schneider electric and many more will present their latest innovations and products.
