As part of process and product optimization, Felder Löttechnik, a supplier of soldering products, is integrating new inline measuring systems into the line to ensure the quality of flux-filled solder wires.
A large number of parameterizations were carried out on these systems and measuring programs for the different solder-flux combinations were incorporated. According to Felder, this makes it possible to continuously and non-destructively monitor the flux-filled solder wires to be produced. The advantages are the identification of flux drop-outs, flux fluctuations, air inclusions and other wire anomalies, continuous monitoring of the wire diameter in two axes, a measuring accuracy ten times higher than the tolerance of the DIN or IPC specifications and the sorting out of the wire in the event of deviations from the standard measured variable. As a result, continuous inline monitoring guarantees 100% consistent quality, according to Felder.
Felder Löttechnik offers the lead-free solder wires ICO-Core Clear, ISO-Core Ultra-Clear and ISO-Core RA-Clear, among others. They are used in automated soldering processes where solder wires with minimal diameter tolerance and a constant flux core are required.
