In the 2022 financial year, Kontron, a provider of IoT/embedded computer technology, refocused on the growing market for the Internet of Things (IoT), which the company's management believes has had a positive impact on its development.
With an increase in sales to € 277.7 million (previous year: € 247 million) in the first quarter, the company's sales growth amounted to 12.4%. EBITDA rose to € 29.6 million (previous year: € 23.7 million), which corresponds to an increase of 24.9%. Net income increased by 66% to € 16.6 million (previous year: € 10 million). With incoming orders of € 390.7 million, the book-to-bill ratio for the entire Group was 141%. Adjusted for the reduction in factoring liabilities, operating cash flow amounted to € 22.1 million.
Overall, a net profit of € 66 million is expected to be generated in the 2023 financial year. The result was driven by the 'Software + Solutions' segment, which achieved an EBITDA margin of 18.9%. High incoming orders suggest continued strong growth for the segment.
Based on the liquidity of € 438.4 million at the end of the quarter, Kontron is planning one or two major acquisitions this year, the distribution of a corresponding dividend and the continuation of the current share buyback program.
