Kraus Hardware GmbH in Großostheim achieved its second-best result in almost 30 years of company history in 2020, according to managing partner Andreas Kraus. The company has continuously developed into a specialist for EMS and rework services and has increasingly addressed a wide variety of clients from small and medium-sized companies, as well as from group companies and research institutions. This made it possible to compensate for declining sales in the automotive sector in 2020 in sectors such as medical technology and automation, as well as through the relocation of production.
Investments of more than €500,000 have made a decisive contribution to this development - in technology such as the laser marking system, BT cleaning system, CNS milling and drilling system, SMD assembly system, storage system, cable assembly and, most recently, the entry into the use of collaborative robots. In addition, comprehensive test equipment from flying probe ICT, boundary scan and functional testing via SPI/AOI to X-ray monitoring. Expansion of the traceability process and securing the supply chain also play an important role.
The production areas on the first floor of the company's own building have been expanded and 24 employees have been trained in all important production and production-related areas in accordance with IPC-J-STD-001 and IPC-A 610. Kraus is certified to ISO 9001:2015, and further certifications for areas such as medicine and aviation are in the pipeline.
