As part of the 'ModProFT' research project funded by the Free State of Bavaria, the 'Technology Transfer Center for Flexible Automation' (TTZ) at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences is developing a robot-assisted testing concept for electronic assemblies.
For the final functional test, each assembly must be contacted in a product-specific test system and checked for faults. The project includes recognition and identification of the assembly, order assignment, gripping and inserting the assembly into the test system, the test sequence, validation of the test results and the necessary documentation. A robot-based, fully automated test process is being developed for this purpose. The test sequence will be integrated into the production environment using a data and networking model to be developed. By defining digital twins, it will be possible in future to digitally map both the assembly to be tested and the test system together with the automation. A demonstration setup for assessing feasibility implements the key functionalities. ¬ The project is supported by the EMS service provider BMK.
